1 My start

This question was asked in my etsy moms cafemom group and it really got me thinking. I just wanted to share it with my readers.

Where/How did you learn your craft?

I have always been very crafty but when my son was 2 years old we moved out into our first apartment. I was a full time college student trying to make my way as a single mom. I felt horrible for not providing enough fun activities for me and my son to do together so when i came across a duck soap i new my son would love it. We started with melt and pour soap base from michaels and immediately i got hooked. I searched the internet to learn how to make a better, more natural product and soon found all i needed to run my own bath & body company from home. I have been doing that now for more than 5 years. After the birth of my daughter i wanted to make some more girly things (since i was deprived for so long) that i got into hair bows, tutus and more. I learned this from the internet free instructions and groups like this one. I have been sewing for over 5 years as well thanks to my hubby for showing me. I started with lounge pants for my son and now offer a wide range of sewn items. My soap company was named Baskets of Beauty but after having abby and expanding my business and clientel it is now Abigail's Boutique Designs.Over all through trial and error with a little guidance from the net and forums most of the items i make now especially my b&b items were mostly self taught or perfected. It takes tons of hard work, drive, motivation, and will to succeed.

I thought it would be fun to make a ribbon bracelet. They are way to addicting. I hope the sell well since im loving them at the moment. Im not really into jewelry but this i would definitely wear.

I have some really nice fabric i picked up last night that i hope to get started with tonight. I am doing a dress for sure and some more lounge pants. I love putting them on abby, they are cute and i know she is comfy. I should have some more listing for etsy soon. Keep an eye out.

1 Made my first pillowcase dress set.

I finally got around to making a matching set. It is a pillowcase dress and pair of hair bows. I am so happy with how it came out the colors match perfectly.

The story behind this is i made the bows to sell but when i tossed them down on my table they landed on some fabric that i was going to make a kimono style shirt with well to sum up the story they went so great together i made it into a dress in a size 2t so hopefully my little princess will have some hair by then and be able to wear pigtails.LOL

Here are some other things i have been working on.

I still have to finish this one. It is getting a ribbon under the bodice and it needs to be himed and the straps need to get sewn on. But its pinned and ready to go. AND...............................
I made these cute little lounge pants for abby.

2 My first post intro.

Ok so this is my first post and you guessed it my first time blogging so bare with me. I'm a WAHM. I have a 7yr.old son and a 5 month old daughter. I have been making bath and body items for more than 5 years now and decided to add boutique items to my plate. My old company name was baskets of beauty and now has changed to:

After having my little princess I wanted to offer items for all of the family even the family dog. ( i use my oatmeal soaps on my dogs and it is great)

I love crafting in general. Everything from sewing to scrapbooking and more. I focus on b&b, candles, sewing, hairbows, tutus, and a little of this and that. You can find it all in my etsy shop while i re-do my website. I love custom orders so if there is anything you every need or want just let me know.

Ok well that's it for my first post, feel free to comment or critique or just pop in and say hi. I could use some advise from you veteran bloggers.
