2 WnW flora collection.

The flora collection by wet n wild is a limited edition collection that is worth the hunt. It comes with a eyeshadow trio, blush, gloss, and polish. I was luck and found both the flora and fauna collection at my local walgreens for $4.99 each. This collection stood out to me more with its fun bold greens and complamenting orange colors. But being a makeup whore i had to get both. LOL

The eyeshadow trio is what you are use to from the WnW line. The colors are pretty pigmented with some more so than others. In this set the green is amazing while the orange is a little softer than i had hoped for but if you use a foling serum such as metal fx you can get some great color pay off.
The blush really shocked me. It has the perfect amount of pigmentation with out being to clownish.
Dont let this gloss fool you it appears bright red in color but it is very very sheer and just lends your lips a tiny bit of color. It is not shimmery at all its very glass like and very nice.
This nail polish is beautiful. I had to do a full review just on it. You can
read all about it here. Over all this really is a nice collection to have and i recommend it if you can find it. Also be sure to pick up its counterpart the fauna collection.

8 Toasted marshmallow brownies.

Walking the isles of the grocery store while your hungry is never a good thing. And how i wound up in the baking section is really beyond me but there it was right before my eyes. A big discount sticker. 5/$5 on the toasted marshmallow fluff. Now i have seen this many times but never tried it and for a buck i figured its a good a time as any. So i grabbed 5 containers and headed down the lane before i came to my senses.

When i got home i started thinking ok what can i make with this stuff that wont be to sickening sweet. I love chocolate and desserts but theres a such thing as to sweet and rich for me. (gag) I decided on a toasted marshmallow brownie and boy was it good.

Mix your batter per directions on the box. I like a simple milk chocolate.
Get it all nice and smooth.
While mixing the batter i took the lid off the toasted fluff and heated it about 30 seconds in the microwave.
Pour half the batter in your pan, then plop globs of marshmallow down, and pour the remaining batter on top.
Bake as per directions. I do pull mine out a little early as i like a more fudgy, chewy, soft brownie.
Plate and eat or just eat it out of the pan i wont tell :)
This would also be really good with ice cream but mine didn't make it that far.
Check your local store for the toasted marshmallow fluff it is really good and makes the brownies so yummy and decadent. If you cant find it you could use the regular fluff. I'm sure it would be just as good. You could even through in some walnuts or if you like your sweets over the top try adding in some chocolate chips or candy pieces.

1 Ramblings of a MUA

So i decided to try and add a little segment to my blog about different aspects of my life. (ie: mommy, photographer, mua, & entrepreneur) Today i talk makeup.

Many of you know i have been doing makeup for a long time (mine anyway does that count) well just this past year i decided to offer my services to models in the industry. Well that went from models to friends, to brides and everyone in between so now I'm available to anyone. And it wasn't long ago that i thought this was just a dream. That i didn't feel my work was that good or i didn't know if i should be doing this. Now my work can be seen in many photographers & models portfolios, hanging in studios, entered into art shows and more.

I know with enough hard work and dedication i can take this anywhere i want it to go. And some may shoot for Hollywood ect but I'm 100% happy being right here in the state of Missouri. I am positive that one day i may get national recognition but for now I'm just the local mom with a passion for makeup and a gift for application. I don't have any "formal" training, i didn't go in debt to get where i am. I have just always been a visual person. I want to encourage everyone to not doubt yourself, don't let others tell you that your not good enough, that you cant do something. Also a important lesson i had to learn was that i didn't need anyone to help get where i am today. I did it no one else just me.

I hope if your reading this maybe you can relate. And hopefully this will help remind you that you can reach your goals. Don't get discouraged. We are our own worst critics. We prevent ourselves from achieving greatness. In this particular business its very competitive but you have to only remember one thing. There is only ONE you.

Keep at it and don't let you hold you back.

5 Wet n Wild Twining Vines Review

I was able to score the limited edition flora & fauna sets by wet n wild. (more on that later) but one of the first things that drew me in to these was this insanely sparkly acid green glitter polish. What i love about the polish is that it covers extremely well. Most glitter polishes require like a million coats to get a few specks of glitter but this was not like that at all.

The glitters are a combination of toxic green, yellow and gold and they are very bold. Perfect for spring. I intended on doing a fun Easter themed nail art tutorial for you all this week but i couldn't bring myself to cover any of this metallic sunshine up. So for now i am just gazing up on their beauty. If you come by this shade you have to pick it up its really like no other.

0 Foundation Techniques Reviewed.

I wanted to conduct my own test on which foundation technique worked best. (at least for me) I tested 3 different techniques with the same foundation minus the airbrush one.
First up we have me with no makeup. Yikes
Next i used the beauty blender sponge.
This time i used my stippling brush.
and finally i used my airbrush machine.

No i will say i could have used a bit darker of a airbrush shade but i think that had the fullest most even coverage, lasted the longest but was a bit dry in feel and i have oily skin so not sure whats up with that.

The stippling brush has been my go to for years and it still has a place in my heart.

My all time favorite way to apply foundation is the beauty blender. Now you don't have to go out and spend $20 on a sponge you can get the same general idea with a damp makeup sponge. This is the fastest but lightest application. However you can build up coverage.
Here are swatches of dinair extras: dark tan solution, mint concealer, peach beige, light smoke
Here are the swatches of dinair foundations: (I'm a mix of alabaster, vanilla & olive beige if that helps)

0 Magnetix by China Glaze

I was trolling my local sallys and came across the new magnetix nail polish by china glaze so of course i had to buy some. I decided on 2 colors a purple and a brown. Based on the samples they had out these 2 colors looked like they showed the magnet designs the best.

The thing i like the most was the magnet came with 3 designs on it for you to customize your looks.
Here is the brown as you can see it shows well.

Next we have the purple. This one shows much lighter so it was hard to get a good picture.

Overall it was fun to try out. Not really happy with the wavy design as it just didn't work well but the other two are great. I am gonna work with these a bit more but wanted to give my first impressions.

Have you tried the new magnet craze? What are your thoughts?

0 Mini haul from old navy.

Old navy use to be my favorite store back when i was a cookie cutter size but now that i have some curves its harder to find things i like. However when i do venture in i always hit up the clearance section for a few goodies. This trip started out like most, i was on a mission to snag up some of the $4 tanks & tees for my little Abby. (And of course get new flip flops) i did manage to find a few shirts in her size but only one pair of shorts. Apparently i was uninformed of the sale on time. Curse you email.

Well before getting out of the store i had to check the clearance for me just in case that one shirt i couldn't live with out was there. And although i didn't find that one i did find a couple that spoke to me. I even though i was going to splurge on one that was $25 only to have it ring up for $8. SCORE
So all in all i walked away with a couple flip flops, 2 tanks and a off the shoulder dolman sleeve top (plus Abby's stuff) Total for everything??? Less than $50 Sweet.

This post does contain adult material from edenfantasys.com if you are not of age or do not wish to view it check out some of my other great posts. Thank you.

Its almost st.pattys day so it thought it would be a perfect time to highlight some of the great green items that edenfantasys.com carries. They have some of the most beautiful corsets i have even seen like this one from couqette. And right now you get a free panty in one of six styles with any couqette purchase. How sweet is that.

I'm also loving the sleek designs of the new line out from leaf. All the pieces in this collection have a simple modern feel. I really like they are rechargeable which of course makes then more than just green in color.
Fresh - Discreet massager

Im am such a huge bath & body person and have had my eye on this package from shunga. Most of you all know i love anything from this company so this should be no different. They really set the bar high and produce amazing products.
