Perfect pairings for a perfect way to de-stress.

Things have been very stressful at home and work lately that its really hard to find time to break away and clear my head. Even if it is just for a few minutes finding time for me is a must. Working 3 jobs plus a home and managing the kids schedules I'm sure you can imagine how easy it all can build up.

Simple tasks such as going to the store give me great pleasure. Isn't it funny how that happens. Anyway while I was out and about running my Sunday errands I ran by walmart for a few things. I was really interested in their "Perfect Pairings" displays. Although my store didn't have them be sure to check your store as they are very informative. I did come across some delicious looking blueberry muffins. Normally I like to make things from scratch but they looked to good to pass up and believe me I needed a little something to get through this day.

I was also very excited to find that Starbucks coffee is now stocked at walmart so I had to pick some up. This is gonna save my sanity for days to come. Coffee is a must for me to function in the mornings and I really like that I can now have my favorite brand in the comfort of my own home.

I have never been one of those coffee and dessert kind of people. In fact the whole idea just didn't make sense. I am now understand.  On their own the muffins were very moist and not to sweet which is the way I like them.  However paired with the coffee somehow enhanced the flavors and was really a match made in heaven.
With earth day right around the corner, and the kids being home I thought it would be fun to do a little project. I love homemade masks and facials using natural ingredients found around the house. Coffee is not only good for your health in moderation but its great for your complexion. It can take your dull skin and bring it to life and its great for oily skin. This is one of my go to recipes.

Cocoa, Coffee, Cream:
  • 2 tbls cocoa powder
  • 2 tbls ground coffee (i like a little scrubbing action but you can grind it finer to suit your needs)
  • 4 tbls cream or milk (i use cream in winter/ milk in summer)
