Nude Censored Nail Tutorial

I found the most perfect shade of nude nail polish. It's the new wet n wild 2% Milk polish. I new when i applied this that was perfect but would pop with a fun tip. After applying a O.P.I turquoise blast i applied a little strip of black. Hints the censored part. I Have several of the new wet n wild 2012 polishes and i love them. They have a wider curved tip that's so easy to get right up to the cuticle.

Albert Nobbs - Review & Trailer

I was selected to be a VIP at the movie premier of Glen Close's new movie Albert Nobbs. I didn't really know much about the movie when i accepted the invite so i asked a friend of mine to come along. The movie lends a good mix of emotions. I found myself laughing and crying and wanting to knock a girl out. lol

The movie is set in the 19th century, where work and times are hard. Glen Close dresses as a man to obtain employment as a butler in Dublin, Ireland but that's not really what the movie is about. As the movie unfolds you learn of why she decides to dress like a man and work as a butler.

Close had many talented actors & actresses to accompany her in this extraordinary movie that took over 15 years to bring to the big screen. Ever since she first stared as Albert Nobbs on Broadway she dreamt of bringing it to Hollywood. I would say the wait was well worth it.

Many spectators were to focused on the sexual orientation of the movie to true connect and be enlightened by this film. But i would say if your willing to open your mind and be accepting you will be blown away by this film. Defiantly get your popcorn and tissues ready.

On a side not i would like to thank swaylo, and plaza Frontenac for the premier opportunity. The whole experience is one that will not be forgotten. My guest and I were treated as VIP and were seated in the press section. The staff was very attentive and professional. I hope this is the first of many.

Angry birds

Abby is loving the cute little characters from angry bird so of course i agreed to make her some cupcakes but she insisted on a cake instead.. I really didn't have the time to roll out fondant and make adorable little birds and pigs (im a stay at home mom all i have is time right, LMAO) so anyway i whipped this up and she was happy none the less. The hard part was cutting it cause of course she wouldn't let me cut the birds in half.

This is just a basic chocolate cake with the cans of icing with the tips. I must say i hate that icing with the passion. It is hell on your hands and its way to sweet and just over all disgusting. I definitely recommend passing on that and make your own. I'm anti-store bought icing so i don't know what i was thinking.

If you do have to use a store bought icing to decorate with get the cookie gels.

Taco dip Quick & Delicious

With superbowl coming up a lot of people come to me for dip and snack food ideas. One of my guest favorite dips is the taco dip. Its very simple and never lasts through half time.

Layered Taco Dip: (from bottom to top)

Refried beans or black beans mixed with taco seasoning

White mexican cheese (Queso Asadero) or your choice

Rotel or Salas

Shredded Cheese your choice

*Bake it at 350 about 10min*

Top with shredded lettuce, tomato, sourcream, a little more cheese.

Make sure you grab several bags of chips cause everyone will want some. My only advise dont skip the mexican cheese if you can find it i recommend it. You can of course add meat to this as well if you would like.

On busy nights where we don't have a lot of time for dinner we break out a nice potato bar. The key to making this a filling and rewarding dinner is to have lots of options including protein, veggies, cheeses, and whatever else floats your boat. Some of my families favorites are as you see below, bbq chicken, chili, broccoli, cheese, sour cream, butter, bacon, pizza toppings, ect.

Really the sky is the limit. I also recommend you use small potato's since everyone will want more than one and will want to try out different topping options.

Fried chicken salad...Oh so yummy

So my favorite salad is a fried chicken salad. I could seriously eat it like every night and with the beautiful weather we have been having in the dead of winter it is so perfect. Now there isnt much to a fried chicken salad so there isnt a recipe for this but here is how i throw mine together.

Start off with a bag of salad mix if your in a rush like me most nights and don't want to chop your own.

Then top it with grape tomato, garlic cheddar croutons, shredded cheeses, chopped hard boiled egg, and of course fresh homemade fried chicken. (no bag crap here)

I was in search for an AMAZING honey mustard so i got several from the store to try and find my favorite. So the winner is Kens steak house. OMG just like the popular restaurant versions.

Now that i have your mouth watering go whip up a quick fried chicken salad and check out my other food posts.

So you all know im super addicted to cosmetics. And even though i have my own cosmetic line i still continue to buy, use, and review other brands and items. I know your probably scratching your head on that one but here's why. I think that every man or woman should have the right to do what makes them feel beautiful and if using a little makeup is their way then even if its not mine i want to let you all know there are some good affordable brands out there. You don't have to rush off to M.A.C or spend $25 on a lip stick to be beautiful or hell even to be a makeup artist. You just need to be informed and that's what i like to do. I like to educate the public on whats to spend their buck on. Of course while giving myself some mad props. lol

So anyway now that that is clear lets move on. I was trolling the isle like a mad obsessed crazy makeup woman as usual when i came across the new W&W display. Oh my heart started to flutter as i saw all the beautiful creamy colors for spring. I jumped right in and left with a couple nail polishes, 3 juicy lip balms, and a bronzer.

Wet n Wild New 2012 Nails

So when i was trolling through the makeup section at my local walgreens i saw the new 2012 collection end cap and fell in love. There are 16 colors i think and i will own them all. I love them. Any they are soft creamy colors and they came out with a new wand style. Its a rectangle wand with a curved wider flatter brush that gets right up to the cuticle.

Now the only drawback is if you have narrow smaller nails it may be a little messy and also since the wand is rectangle, you might have issues getting it into the small round neck of the glass bottle.

Over all i love the one coat coverage and the hot colors.

Moo to the Rescue

Ok just for the sake of being different im doing this review backwards :)

I recived an offer to try these mini moo cards and i couldnt pass it up. I can never have to many business cards for all my multiple personalities i mean businesses lol.

The cards are so small and cute and you can have upto 100 different images in a box if you choose. I only uploaded 25 designs so i got 4 copies of each. Everyone loved picking out their favorite.

This is how the come boxed, almost like cute little recipe cards with 2 dividers so you can keep some for yourself seperate from ones you want to give away.

All boxed up with a fun sleeve to keep them all neat.

I was kinda suprised that they were just mailed in a standard bubble mailer, usually cards come in boxes but it was sturdy and nothing was damaged ripped or even dirty looking so im good with that.

Over all i am loving these and will continue to use them for my makeup artist cards. I highly reccomend them. They may seem a bit pricey at $20 for 100 cards but they are more than that they are conversation peices. Check them out at http://us.moo.com/

Fruit Smoothie Facial Mask - Review

Over the holidays i loaded up on facial masks to help relieve stress and tension and keep my tired face looking its best. I have to say i love the Montagne Jeunesse Fruit Smoothie Mask. Its loaded with fruits such as raspberry, mango, apricot, peach and pomegranate. It smells pretty darn good to but dont eat it. Thats just plan gross.

These pre packaged masks are so easy and convienent to use that you will want to buy them by the case load. The best part is they are afforadable. Each mask being about $2.
You just open it up and slap it on your face and try to chill out a bit so the mask has time to fully dry. (about 15 min) When i washed it off i noticed smoother, relaxed, vibrant skin instantly. Imagine using it 3 times a week. Oh wow i get all gitty just thinking about it.

Here i am with my fruit smoothie slapped all over my face. Tee Hee

And of course miss abby wanted in on some of the slapping action so we slapped her up to. (OK chill out i didnt actually smack her) Dont she look mean in this photo. Wow remind me to hide the mask stash from her. LOL

Makeup not just for faces anymore - (ADULT)

Its been a while since my last review for edenfantasys.com. I have been under going some test and things for health issues but all looks good so im back in the saddle. I normally focus my edens reviews on more family friendly products such as bath or clothing but there is just no getting around it this time. I found some products that my makeup fans are gonna love if not simply due to the design.

Eden has really been doing a great job at listening to its customers about finding more fun unique everyday items, especially more discreet adult toys. Well now the have three fun makeup shaped toys. Yes you heard right make up shapes. Aggh So fun.

First up we have the vibrating brush. I don't know how discreet i would say this was as it has a huge screaming o logo but its fun anyway.

Next up we have the new vibrating lipstick. Again with all the screaming o logos. We get it. You made it.

Moving on we also have the new vibrating mascara. This one is interesting to say the least.

If that's not enough they also have a warming and cooling compact that looks like eyeshadow, and a discreet compact with a bullet vibe inside. Check out the whole studio collection here.
No matter if this type of thing isn't up your alley you still have to admit if your a makeup junkie like me this is really freaking cool.

Monster pain in the butt..

This monster high dress is in a cute green plaid print with a black lace belt and trim. I'm still trying to get a perfect pattern down for these dolls but i will just say it. They are a bitch to make. LOL

For this one i just measured around the chest and then times that by about 3 to get the skirt width. Sew the top to the gathered skirt, hem edges, sew side seams and dress it up with the lace.

I did the same for this one but i didn't add the lace instead i used a black thread to make it pop a little.

DIY Monster Mansion - Pic heavy

I wanted to make my daughter a doll house for her monster high dolls so i knew just any old house wouldnt do. It had to be fun, dark, girl, goth, unique, and modern all in one. We started with first building the frame for the huge mansion.

This sucker is a huge 48x48

This is going to be a library

Another bedroom needs bed/bedding

Living room complete with fire place and christmas tree

Over all the house has 8 rooms total and plenty of storage at the top. I need to make some pictures, tv, chairs, and more decor but i will get to it a little at a time. Abby has been in love with this and placys with it all the time. Everything was made from pop tart boxes and other household materials and to my suprise she has been very gentile with it all i only had to do 1 minor repair.

I will post more pics as i get each room done so you can follow me on my nightmare.. i mean adventure .lol

Pink & Grey Mouse - Nail Art

Something about a pink and grey combo screams girly to me. And paired with a little mouse makes it extra cute but even if you cant do the mouse i highly recommend the pink with grey tips.

Very simple to do.

Paint your nails a light pink.

Wait for them to fully dry then i just free handed a grey tip on.

Draw the little mouse and appy some clear coat.

Hot chocolate cupcakes

This is really very simple. I has to make several batches of cupcakes for rob's work holiday party so i made some m&m minis and some reese's peanut butter cupcakes. I figured not everyone would like peanut butter ( i know crazy right) so for some of them i just made a light frothy milk chocolate icing and topped it with a vanilla snowman marshmallow. It dawned on me after the fact that i should have put a marshmallow in the center as well but maybe next time.

Green with Envy

Christmas eve i wanted to sport something festive and sparkly so i created this beautiful green eye. It is a very simple 2 color look. You can find the pigments at http://www.abigailsboutiquedesigns.com/

For this look i used:

Mad Martian - on my lid and into the crease. I also used it on my lower lash line.

Pucker up - in my crease blended up the brow bone.

Green glitter was used on top of mad martian.

Elf cream liner in black.

Almay mascara in dial up blackest black.

Blue Holidays - Nail Art

This isn't much of a tutorial but i thought i would share with you all my blue christmas look. It was a very easy look to do. I started off with a blue nail, then using 2 coordinating blues add a funky design to the tips and some dots. You cant really seal the teal color i used just the light blue but its there. On the standout nail i painted a xmas tree and took the nail color to add accents.

Udon Beef Noodle Bowls - Recipe

Tonight i wanted to make some japanese food so i through this one together and it came out so incredibly good i wanted to share it with my fabulous readers. Its very simple to make and only takes about 30 min.

( i don't measure but ill do my best to give you guidelines)

Ingredients:

1 pound of very thin sliced beef ( i used lean stew meat)

3 carrots sliced

4-6 sliced green onions

1/2 a head of bok choy coarse chopped

2 cans beef broth

package of udon noodles (can sub spaghetti noodles)

1 tablespoon of minced garlic

1/2 teaspoon of ginger

1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes (use 1/2 if you don't like spice)

3 tablespoons of honey

3 tablespoons of soy sauce

3 tablespoons of mirin ( sweet rice oil)

1.In wok add a drizzle of oil and cook beef til no longer pink. In the meantime bring a pot of water to a boil for your noodles

2. Add garlic, red pepper, honey, soy, mirin and broth to the wok

3. Bring to a boil then reduce to simmer

4. Cook the noodles, carrots, green onion, & bok choy in the pot of boiling water til tender.

5. Drain, and add the noodle mixture to the beef & broth mixture.

6. Remove from heat and serve.

Chop all your veggies before hand so they are ready

Let you meat and spices shimmer

Cook your noodles and veggies at the same time

OMG, So good get yourself a bowl

Santa Nail Art- Tutorial

To get in the holiday spirit i decided to do a Santa inspired tutorial for you all. Its a combo of classic holiday and glitter. Who doesn't love glitter.

1. apply base coat and red polish

2. apply a clear coat to 3 nails and push red glitter on top of it before it sets.

3. using a small stripping brush apply the black line for the belts.

4. Going back to the belt apply a yellow square for the buckle.

5. Apply gold glitter to the buckles.

6. Apply a couple coats of clear to seal everything in.

I did this one late at night so the lighting was dark but its super cute to wear everyday or to the office party. Have fun with it and have a wonderful Christmas.

Cakedy Candy Bar - Review

I know what your thinking. Whats a cakedy candy bar? Well to put it plainly its a cake/candy bar that is totally to die for. They are made in the Minnesota and ship throughout the US. Each bar weighs about that of a traditional candy bar. (approx. 2 oz)

They come in 4 delicious flavors it was so hard picking just one. To my surprise when my package came i go 2 bars. The first one was the peanutter. I yummy mix of peanut butter nougat, peanut butter chips, white cake & frosting and covered in a chocolate shell. I couldn't even get it fully out of the box before it was snatched up and gobbled down. Lucky for me they saved me a bite and it was outstanding. I really didn't think i would enjoy this one as im not a huge peanut butter/ chocolate fan. I know I know im odd. But it wasn't overly sweet it was just perfect.

The next one i got i claimed and wouldn't share. Its the red head. A mixture of strawberry cream cheese nougat, strawberry chips, and a vanilla shell. I put it up and saved it for when i could fully enjoy it in peace and quiet. So as i write this i am indulging in this delicious confection. Up on opening the package it smells like sweet ripe strawberry. Mmmm so good. The strawberry cake inside is so moist and the chips are soft and melt on contact. I could eat a case full.

OOTD - Girls Night - Drag Bar

So this is late but i thought it was to cute not to post. Me and one of my best friends (Randomosity) went to a drag show for girls night a few weeks ago. I don't go out much but people always ask me what i wear or how i did my make up ect so it thought it would be fun to blog about it since its a little to late for a video.

I wore this fun bright sweater, boot cut jeans with a shimmer effect, a belt & hot buckle boots. The sweater, belt and boots came from Dots & the jeans on clearance at Torrid. Outfit = $65

For the makeup i used a bright blue on the inner corner, followed with a smokey grey/silver in the outer v to crease. Topped with a silvery white shimmer on the brow bone. Black liner, mascara and a bright green on the lower lash line.

Hot Mama.....

Finished it off with a nude lip 001 by revlon. ( I think)

Just a quick Show n Tell

My daughter loves monster high dolls and has a bunch of them so this year for xmas i decided to make her a monster mansion and some fun clothes. Well i will be blogging about the mansion soon enough but wanted to show you the first outfit i made for her Cleo doll. This is a pajama set with a cute little boat neck top.

I will say these dolls are soooo tiny and hard to work with but i am really happy with this first draft and now know what to do better next time.

I have tons more to make and hope you stay with me for this fun monster high journey.

Fruity pebble cupcakes adorned the dinner table last night and everyone couldn't wait to make a happy plate so they could have one. Literally it was like 3 hungry little vultures waiting for a snack. So cute though.

What i did was make a white cake mix (yup i cheated) crush up 1/2 cup of fruity pebbles, add it to the batter and bake. ( you could add more i would say 1 cup would have been better)

After they cooltop with your favorite icing. Then crush up another 1/2 of pebbles and sprinkle on and devourer. Very simple but a great fun childhood favorite taste. Enjoy.

Start off with a base coat
Then apply a single coat of a color that matches the glitter
Apply 2-3 coats of you glitter polish
Top with a fast dry top coat.

Mexican Pizza - Recipe- How to

Sometimes you need a little spice in your life or a good change. I think pizza is probably the most eaten food in any household, with good reason. You can do so much with it and have a completely different meal.

Tonight we decided on a Mexican Pizza:

1.Start by making your own pizza dough or just cheat and by one like i did.

2.Cook your ground meat (we used ground turkey) onions, and peppers (optional)

3.Add in some taco seasoning or i added in chili pepper, cyan, red pepper flake, cumin, paprika & white pepper.

4.While that finishes roll out your dough on a greased cookie sheet or pizza stone. and spread with taco sauce.

5.Then heat re fried beans with a little milk or cream cheese to make them spreadable and put that on the dough.

6. Add the meat mix to the pizza and bake for about 8 min till crust starts to get golden.

7. Remove from oven and fresh shredded cheese.

8. Put back in the oven til done and crust is nice golden brown.

9.Top with shredded lettuce & tomatoes for a fast easy delicious meal.

Boston cream cupcakes

Boston cream cupcakes are so easy to make and taste so good you cant stop at just one. But i wont tell. :)

So you could start out with your favorite butter yellow cake recipe or just cheat like i did and get a mix. ( I was short on time)

Some people cut the cake in half after they cool and add in a layer of boston cream i find them to be really messy thus defeats the idea of having a small little perfect portable snack. I prefer to inject mine with the cream while they are still warm. Now on to the boston cream recipe.

Boston Cream Filling:

1 cup of milk
2/3 cup of heavy cream
1/2 cup granulated sugar
Pinch of salt
4 large egg yolks
3 tablespoons cornstarch
4 tablespoons cold unsalted butter
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Whisk you sugar & yolks together in a bowl, add in cornstarch and set a side. In a saucepan heat your butter, milk, salt, & heavy cream til almost a boil. Pour the milk mix in to the egg mix. Whisk then pour into saucepan again. Heat until thick. (less than a minute) Add in vanilla and remove from heat.

When the cream is a little warmer than room temp inject the cupcakes.

To make the chocolate ganache just heat up 3/4 cup of heavy cream til almost a boil, then pour over milk chocolate chips or shaving and stir till nice and smooth. (you can use semi sweet but i like milk)
Allow to thicken a bit then top your cupcakes.

Chill the cupcakes before serving and enjoy.

I asked my son what he wanted for dinner on his birthday and he said chocolate mint cookie cupcakes. LOL Typical kid response. So although we didn't have cupcakes for dinner we did have them. And not just mint but 3 different kinds.

First we i started off by baking a basic chocolate cake mix.

Then i made my whipped icing.

I decided i really wanted snickers type of cupcake since i admit im not a big mint chocolate fan.

For the snickers cakes i injected them after baking with a thin caramel. Topped off with icing, nuts & more caramel.

Then i crushed up the new berry oreos & some mint oreos. Mixed in some icing and topped with a 1/2 cookie.

He absolutely loved them and i loved how easy it was to get 3 different flavors from 1 mix.

12 months. He'll miss Thanksgiving, Christmas and all 3 of the kids' birthdays. Don't think about the big picture. Not this early. I have to just get through today. Then tomorrow, I'll worry about getting through tomorrow. I thought it was hard during his first deployment, but saying good-bye to my husband today as he left for his second deployment was just too much. Seeing our two sons trying to wrap their minds around not seeing daddy for that amount of time was sad. Looking at him carrying our 6 month old daughter, knowing that she will be so different 12 months from now walking and talking is just heart-wrenching. He will miss so much of their lives, yet he's such an example of a hero to them. How can I fault him for being the most courageous man we know? One day, they will realize the sacrifice he has made in missing the little things in their lives for the next 12 months, so that he can protect their freedom. And I hope they will be as proud of their dad as I am of him. In the meantime, I will take on single-parenthood trying to maintain some sense of normalcy and, with the help of local internet providers Colorado, help the kids and myself stay in touch with him via emails and Facebook. After all, what day overseas, away from your family, isn't complete without a picture of your youngest son trying to ride your black Labrador retriever down the hallway while the lab is trying to run and buck him off while your oldest son is trying to jump on too? Just another day in paradise around here!

DIY - Homemade Cheese Sticks

One of my favorite foods to get while im out to dinner or something is cheese sticks. Something about this little fried chunk of cheese gets my mouth watering. For me the frozen variety's sold at stores just dont do it for me and always leave me unsatisfyed. Well that is a problem i dont have to face anymore. I can have hot fresh cheese sticks in a matter of minutes that are just as good as the ones you get out somewhere for 8 dollars.

Recipe for 2 Bite Cheese Sticks:

Get yourself some string cheese ( you know the kind the kids love)

Decide how many you want then how many you need lol

Cut them in half once

Roll them in flour

Dip them in a egg/h2o mix

Then into a seasoned bread crumb mixture ( i add in more seasoning like garlic, Parmesan, ect)

Freeze them for about 5 min while your oil gets hot. (Not to hot!!!)

I cook mine on about a 4 on my gas stove

Cook about 2 or 3 at a time or they will melt before you get to them all.

As soon as they turn golden you will hear them start to pop louder that's when you get them bad boys out and onto a paper towel lined plate.

Resse's Peanut Butter CuppyCakes

Peanut butter and chocolate is timeless and much loved combination for good reason, its nummy. So putting that with my passion for cupcakes this became last nights dessert. I make things as easy as i can so when im in a rush i use a box mix and its totally fine. You can go all out and make from scratch as well if you have time both are great.

So mix up your basic chocolate cake mix until its super creamy (no lumps).

Put about 1 tablespoon of batter in a lined muffin cup

Add one of the small peanut butter cups in the center (don't push it all the way down)

Then add about another table spoon of batter on top.

Bake at 350 for about 25min

I crushed up more peanut butter cups to sprinkle on the top of my whipped icing.

Inside is your perfect little bite of happiness.

I'm so excited to start on my baking tomorrow and then put myself in a food coma on turkey day. I know that may not sound like a good thing but oh it so is. After slaving away in the kitchen for hours seeing the look on my family and friends as they indulge themselves is worth all the hard work.

Chocolate Vanilla Cream Cupcakes

Since im a cupcake junkie i had to check out the new Betty Crocker Fun=da=Middle cupcakes. I will be honest when mixing these up i was uncertain it would be good as the batter was sorta bland and the vanilla cream was thick and marshmallowy. When they came out of the oven they even appeared sorta a different consistency almost dry on top but looks can be deceiving. I made my own whipped icing as i always do and made up some yellow sprinkles to top them off. When it was time for the taste test i was surprised. They are so good and addicting. The box only makes 12 instead of the usual 24 and the price is pretty high so i cant see me using this kind a lot but its a good treat.

The thick creme inside is delish and it does still remind me of marshmallows. lol

DIY Vanity Upgrade...Tutorial

Still on my diy kick here so i decided to start with the bathroom. Its always been black, white, & grey which im fine with in fact i like it or else i would have changed it duh. lol However it was lacking severely. What was it lacking you may ask well pretty much style. I mean obviously it was a shower sink and toilet but all the rest left much to be desired. I started with the sink/vanity what ever you want to call it. Now mine is the type that has 2 drawers and 2 doors. So right away i knew i wanted to give it a face lift since it was all white.

I went to hobby lobby in search of the perfect paper however since i didn't really know what i was looking for i settled for what they had in those colors. To my luck it actually worked out and looks freaking awesome in my eyes. What i did was get 2 sheets each of 3 coordinating papers. (i had the modpodge on hand)

Remove the drawers, doors, and knobs. And cut your paper to size.

Then apply a layer of modpodge, then paper, then more modpodge. I think i did about 5 coats.

For the doors i had to use some elmers wood putty to fill in the etched design. Allow it to dry completely (i rushed it a bit...don't do that!!)

While i was putting on the putty the stupid putty knife attacked me. We had words but its all better now.

After its all dry, you just apply the modpodge and paper the same way you did the drawers. Rehang everything put on the knobs and admire your hard work.

I have a few touch up spots to take care of from when my daughter got into the self tanning lotion. But all in all im super happy with it.

I couldn't find the last knob so i replaced them with more modern stylish knobs. o.0

Also because i found the perfect fabric while i was there i had to make a new curtain.....

And a new shower curtain.

I still have the "decor" items to make such as pictures, baskets, and shelves but I'm a happy camper.

Chococat Nail Art Tutorial

1.Start with clean dry nails, apply base coat & 2 layers of a sheer pink

2.Next use a damp makeup sponge and 3-4 colors of choice to marble your nails.

3. Using the colors you used for the marble create paw prints

4. Now on add in the chococat which is basically made up of circles

5. Apply Clear coat.

Yummy potato bites... Recipe

Here is the much requested potato bite recipe you all saw me post of facebook. Again i don't really measure but this is a good starting point.Hope you all enjoy...

Potato Bites

4 oz fresh Parmersan cheese, grated, divided

1 1/4 cups instant mashed potato flakes
2/3 cup hot water
2 tbsp melted butter
1 egg, beaten
1/2 tsp salt, divided
1/2 tsp coarsely ground black pepper, divided
1 zucchini
1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes in oil, drained and patted dry
3 tbsp mayonnaise
2+ garlic cloves to taste

1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Spray mini muffin cups with nonstick cooking spray. Combine potato flakes and water in bowl; mix well. Add half of the cheese, butter, egg and 1/4 tsp each of the salt and black pepper; mix until well blended. Divide potato mixture evenly among cups of pan. Press tops of potato mixture to make indentations; bake 12–14 minutes or until edges of cups are golden brown.

2. Meanwhile, for filling, chop zucchini & tomatoes Combine zucchini, tomatoes, mayonnaise, garlic and remaining cheese, salt and black pepper in clean bowl; mix well.

3. Remove pan from oven. Divide filling evenly among cups. Bake 5–7 minutes or until cheese is melted and edges of cups are deep golden brown.

Yield: 24 appetizers

I served this up with some confetti salad and pulled BBQ chicken sandwiches.

Paint A Vase.... Tutorial

I have been on a major DIY kick lately. It could be that the holidays are fast approaching and my instincts kick in to spruce up the house or it could be that i have been stressed and this is my release but either way i love it. I have lived in this house going on 5 years now and never decorated. I know many of you are astounded huh. Well when i moved in i was pregnant with little miss Abby, on bed rest due to high risk so getting the house painted and boxes moved in was a big accomplishment for me. Then i got busy and blah blah blah... You all know how it goes. So know is my time to shine i guess.

I looked into purchasing decor, updates, ect and lets just say pretty much everything was out of my $ range so i am doing it all on my own. ( minus power tool stuff im not allowed to touch them for good reason lol)

This project was fast simple and would suit any room any style and color ect. I plan on doing several more for all the rooms in my house. Well lets move on to the project.

Paint A Vase:
Pretty much just as the title says, your painting a vase.

What you need:
Get yourself a vase (mine was permanently stained so i chose it)
A can of spray paint
Hot glue & gun...duh
Little piece of ribbon

First start out by making sure the vase in clean and dust free.
Then if you want use the hot glue gun to write or decorate the vase. I wrote the kanji characters for family and the word "Family" below it.

After the glue dries take it outside and spray it. Make sure you keep the paint about 6 inches away and do small short sprays so it doesn't run.
You may have to do this a few times to get all the nooks and crannies.
Allow to dry fully and adorn it with a coordinating ribbon.

This one is for my bedroom it is a brown and green Asian inspired theme. Perfect....

Talk About Hot... Recipe

Rob loves hot food i don't just mean your typical spicy for most i mean nose running, throat burning beading up with sweat hot. So if you are just a traditional hot or a wimp then this is not for you. I repeat this is not for you. If you think you can handle it then I'm gonna school you in how i make my Habanero bacon cream cheese stuffed jalapeno poppers.

First you all know me and i dont measure so i do apologize if you like to follow recipes to a T.

Hella Hot Poppers
Ingredients:

24 jalapeno peppers sliced and seeded

1 block of cream cheese

2 habanero peppers - seeded

6 slices of bacon

1 egg

bread crumb

flour

garlic to taste

white ground pepper to taste

1.Start by blanching your jalapenos. Remove, from water cool and pat dry.

2. In a skillet cook your bacon, habanero pepper, garlic & white pepper

3. Remove mixture (including drippings) to a food processor and finely mince.

4. Mix your bacon mixture with your cream cheese and fill each half of the jalapenos

5. after you fill the peppers roll them in flour, egg wash, and seasoned breadcrumb

6. Place in freezer while your oil gets hot (do not skip this step)

7. Fry them in hot oil until they are golden and float

If you dare try these let me know. They smell and taste amazing. They are to hot for me personally but my 4 year old likes them go figure shes a daddy's girl. If you find they are to hot you can skip the habanero peppers and they are just as good. Serve these bad boys up at your next function and i promise they wont last.

Simple Magnets Tutorial

These magnets are super easy to make you dont really even need a tutorial but we will call this a tutorial for namesake.

So if your like me and have kids you have tons of things on the fridge. Everyday abby brings something home that she wants to stick up there and most of it is just scribbles but thats the joy of having a 4 year old preschooler. Needless to say we need lots of magnets.

While crusing the local hobby lobby they had the pre-painted wood cutouts 50% off and i remembered i had a huge pack of magnets at home so i picked some up. Basically you buy some wood cut outs take them home and hot glue a magnet to the back. Walla

Ok so i went to a sip n shop over the weekend with some amazing vendors such as: Pampered chef, 31 gifts, dove, & Beauty control. It was a lot of fun hanging out and trying different products and food with other adults. lol im usually surrounded by kids and toys flying across the room.

Let me tell you things have come along way in the world of flavored lubes. And EdenFantasys has them all. Yes I'm going there cause you need to know. The Blender Bottle Review & Giveaway

I was so excited when i got my blender bottle in the mail and once i saw all the ways i could use it my excitement grew even more. Its not just great for mixing drinks but you can do so much more. I got the large 28 ounce bottle in purple as well as the insulated sling in polka dots. It also came with a very well made spiral recipe book with 101 recipes.

If you have never heard of the blender bottle its a plastic type cup with a metal whisk ball in it.(The whisk ball is made of surgical steel so it wont rust or chip.) All you do is put in your liquids then powders and shake. Its that simple. It has definitely replaced my big bulky blender.I have been trying this baby out for right at a month and its held up perfectly. I still love it and use it just as much today as when i got it. Mama's Not So White Chicken Chili

Today i decided to cook up some of my not so white chicken chili. And its mmm mmm good. I love the change from regular chili on occasion. Chili is just one of those things that's so good no matter what time of year or how you make it. Its a very comforting food and it never last in this house.

I'm gonna school you in how to make mama's not so white chicken chili.
First off mama doesn't measure but since your new at this ill try to give you a guide.

1 small onion, diced
1 can diced green chile's
3 spoonfuls of minced garlic or to taste

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

4 cups chicken broth

3 (15.5 ounce) cans great northern beans,

2 tablespoons minced fresh cilantro

1 lime juiced

1 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

1 1/2 teaspoon ground white pepper

paprika to taste

red cayenne pepper to taste

chili powder

2-4 tablespoons cornstarch

1/4 cup cold water

2-3 cups cubed, cooked chicken

Cube up your chicken breast or tenders in to small bite size pieces.
Dice a medium onion
Next get some oil hot in a pan (about a tablespoon or so)
Add in your chicken and cook til about 1/2 done
Next add in about 3 regular kitchen spoons of minced garlic
Now add the onion, white pepper, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper
Cook til done. Simmer with about a 1/2 cup of chicken broth for about 10 min to let the flavors blend.
In a stock pot add your 3 cans of great northern beans,chilies, lime juice, cilantro, remaining broth, about 1tsp of chicken bullion granules.
Bring that all to a boil and reduce to simmer, cover about 10 min.
In the meantime combine your cornstarch and water til smooth.
Pour the into your chili, add chicken mixture and stir til thickened.

Now you can top it with shredded cheese, crushed tortilla chips, sour cream or whatever your heart desires. Sit back and enjoy in front of a nice cozy fire or a good movie, or serve it for a family or tailgate event. Enjoy...

Fall Fashion Trends 2011

Wanna stay stylish this fall season but be able to get more bang for your buck by wearing it into the spring? Well here are some ways you can do that. This years "Fall" color is Orange. There's many shades of orange out there you just need to find the right one for you. During the fall you can pair this color up with some plaids and prints and then into the spring you can soften it up with some nudes.

While there are many fall fashion trends i don't agree with for my personal style you may like them. Think 70's this year. Loafers, pleated minis, cords, ponchos, red pants and mod styles are all back for the fall. You also have your trusty polka dots, crochet, prints, athletics. Wide leg and flair jeans are replacing the skinny jeans again, and boho, fur, and sheers are high demand.

Fall accessories will include leather, feathers, chokers, and cuffs.

Turning fall to spring this year you will be seeing a lot of hoodies, knit dresses, one shoulder wear, pastels, little white dresses, and bold florals.

My personal opinions of the current 70's styles is not good. This is one decade i could do with out. Now i do like a few things don't get me wrong mainly wide leg jeans, I just don't see me sporting many of the current styles. That being said what are your thoughts on this years trends? Will you be rocking some cords and ponchos or holding out for a better change?

Broccoli & Cheddar Soup for the soul.

So its already November i cant believe it. Seems like time flew by. I do love fall its my favorite time of year the only downside is the cold rain and other dreary weather conditions. So to warm up i love soups, chilli's, and stews. Really any reason to use a crock pot is good in my book but tonight we are making a quick and easy broccoli cheese soup complete with bread bowls. Yum

Broccoli Cheddar Soup:
1/4 cup butter
1 onion, cut into medium dice
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon ground white pepper
1 (16 ounce) package frozen chopped broccoli
1 quart chicken broth
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups whole or 2% milk
salt to taste
8 ounces shredded sharp Cheddar cheese

1.Melt butter over medium heat in a stockpot. Cook onion in butter until softened. Add garlic and pepper; cook for 1 minute then stir in broccoli, and stir in chicken broth. Bring to a boil and simmer until broccoli is tender, 10 to 15 minutes.

2.Meanwhile whisk flour into milk until dissolved. Stir into soup stirring frequently until thickened. Reduce heat, and stir in cheese until melted and heated through.

3.Season with salt to taste.

Halloween is all about spooky costumes, candy, haunted houses and more. But what about real haunted house and sites. I know there are some very real haunted locations across the world and i have a few right here in Missouri. One of the closest to me is "zombie road". There has been documentaries and things done on zombie road and there are a million stories to go a long with it. But there use to be a mental institution there where people would send their kids in the great depression because they couldn't care for them. It seemed like a nice place to send them but no one was allowed to see the basement. They conducted experiments on the children and teens that were left there and buried more than 200 bodies in the hills.

Its now said that all those spirits remain and haunt the site. Zombie Road is a 2 mile road leading up to a dead end. From there you have to get out and walk to the asylum or houses. This same location was also home of a KKK organization, and at one time a pagan cult. So it has decades of tortured and suffering souls. You don't have to believe in the stories or be a ghost hunter to feel the very erie things that go on here. I have not personally gone but know close friends that have and they say that 2 mile drive feels like hours. You can see eyes from the tree line, and you can see children's shadows line the road. Many say the experiences are different in men and woman. Woman seem to be treated kinder, you can feel the hand of a child but men are treated aggressively. You feel pulling and tugging and that from inside your care. The whole mood is tense, its beyond silent, its a feeling you would never want to feel again.

During the day theres nothing but after midnight its not a place to be. Even people who have never heard the stories encountered the same things. The paranormal task force has been there as well as ghost hunters and they claim they will never step foot there again.

One of my favorite things about Halloween is the fun food ideas. You can make food fun for any holiday or just because but there is something about spooky food. I was cruising the net looking for some ideas for tonight's dinner when i cam across this picture for eyeball pasta.

It looks as though it would be a really easy dinner. Use some spinach pasta (or pasta of your choice) then top with sauce. Then they used tofu but i wouldn't touch that stuff with a 10ft pole its nasty so i suggest you could use some soft cheese such as ricotta topped with a olive slice with pimento in tack. I would serve this up with some warm bread and a salad and there you have it. A easy quick spooky meal for busy families.

I was offered a chance to review a couple primers from an amazing and devoted beauticontrol consultant : Samantha W. She sent me the "Secret AGEnt" face primer in natural & the "Shadow Control Creme" eyeshadow primer in natural. First up we have the Shadow Control Creme:

The website states that it blends smooth and helps prevent fading, creasing, and streaks. Its $12.00 for a .5oz tube. Then i got this I was curious to see how it would hold up to my normal urban decay potion primer. (which is my all time favorite) The shadow control did do what it said about helping with creasing and streaks however it didn't blend very well for me. I do have oily skin and this sorta felt like glue rubbing on my eyelid. I also noticed that even the natural color had a to much tint to it that it morphed the color of my eyeshadows.
Over all i think this would work better for someone with dry skin and used primarily with natural colors such as browns, gold, and bronze.

Next i want to talk about Secret AGEnt:

I want to start out by saying i really do like this product. It reminds me of smashbox or some of the other higher end primers. I was sent the natural color in this to but this one is clear. It feels slightly oily when applied but drys to a finch powder finish. I honestly didn't notice an filling or evening of my pores but it did give a nice feel and it helps your foundation blend beautifully. For me i would have chosen the mint color to help even out the redness i have from acne and scarring but im still really happy with the product.
This one comes in 3 color correcting tints and the clear natural one. They are $12.00 for a .5oz tube.
I have been using this daily for over a month and it doesn't even look like i used any out of the tube. Also i have extremely sensitive oily skin and it hasn't broken me out. I can not even begin to tell you how rare that is. So over all i would recommend this to everyone. Its a great item.

Under Amour = Amazing

Wow let me just tell you how much i am in love with under amour. I know its crazy to spend a fortune on underwear but these are so worth it. I had heard about them from a friend on mine cause its all she wears and swears by them so i thought ok whats so special. Well besides being totally cute (im on a boy shorts, cheeky shorts kick lately) they are so incredibly comfortable. I'm not a very active runner or anything so they are nice for everyday wear to. I know its a odd post but really you need to check them out. Your butt will thank you :)

Monster Claws & Ghost Potatoes. Halloween Day 5

So day 5 of my 12 days of Halloween is a yummy dinner that my kids devoured. There is something about making food fun that will get kids to eat every time. Yesterday was a long day and after my baby girl filled up on junk right after we got home from the grocery store i knew she wasn't going to eat but wanted to make this dinner anyway and im glad i did. My son even came home and said he wasn't hungry but booth of them ate the entire plate. So it goes to show what you can get your kids to eat with a little time and creativity.

Monster Claws:

Very very simple. Just cut some thin chicken breast cutlets in to claws by making 4 cuts in the side.

Bread them or coat them in seasoned flower and fry them. Top with ketchup or bbq sauce for "blood"

Ghost Potatoes:

This will work with any kind of mashed potato. I make homemade 99% of the time but you can cheat and use instant if you like. After they are made just use a icing bag (or ziplock) and cut a pretty large corner off you want them to be nice and fat. Then to make eyes you can use olives, sauce, peas, pretty much anything i used some food coloring on the end on a meat thermometer to give me nice even round eyes.

Finish the meal with a nice healthy salad. This one has cucumbers, tomatoes, pimento, artichoke, Parmesan, carrot, lettuce & red cabbage. If salad isn't your thing just pair it with whatever veggies you do like for a nice well balanced meal.

Now just sit back and watch how much fun your kids have with dinner tonight.

Mehron Color Wheel & Celebre Review

I first want to say I absolutely love Mehron. I have never been let down by any of their products. (well until now) But its partially my fault and let me tell you why. I recently got the color wheel and the celebre cream foundation. I had such a hard time picking a shade so i went to the company seeking some advice and though the staff was super nice and helpful i still wound up with the wrong shade for me. And of course once you try it you cant return it. So I have yet to try another shade of the celebre foundation although i am willing. I got the light 4 and it made me look like a umpalumpa. I have a strange complexion it isn't yellow but its not rose either its a little of both so this was a no go for me. However color aside it does have a nice feel, and covers very heavy.

On to my color wheel which i do LOVE and use daily. I can do so much with this and it is by far my most used item from them. It is super creamy, blends beautifully and covers great. The price is great to and you get a ton of product. This is gonna last me a long time even with using it on my clients. It comes with 5 shades to cover all skin tones.

So if you are in need of a color wheel this is one of the best i have tried you wont be disappointed. Now if i could find my correct shade of celebre i will be a happy camper.

Being the holiday junkie i am and a photographer i love when its time to order holiday cards. This year i got my cards from Mixbook.com. They have tons of layouts to choose from and offer 2 types of paper. I got booth so i could tell you about the differences. The standard paper choice is a budget coated flat. It has a slight texture to it but is still very beautiful. The colors also appeared a little darker on those. The other type of paper they offer is premium silk paper. This paper is a very smooth satin finish. It is very nice as well. I honestly like the budget coated paper better. I liked the added texture. Both options come with premium white envelopes free. So you don't have to worry about getting those later.

Shipping was fast and the packaging was really nice.

Inside the box everything comes packaged in clear plastic so its nice and neat. Nothing was bent it was perfect. The print quality of the cards are very nice. Again the regular paper is a little textured but i kinda like it.

I also love that you get front and back full color printing.

Overall i am VERY happy with my order and I cant wait til I get to send these out. I know my family and friends are going to love them just as much as I do. I can not even begin to tell you how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE shoes and I'm sure most of you are with me when it comes to never having to many. I stumbled on a website i want to share with you. Baking Soda Masque - Tutorial

Baking soda has like a million and one uses and one way I like to use it is as a diy homemade facial mask. Now I will tell you that normally I like to use a homemade mask 3 times a week but this is one I would only recommend once or twice.

Baking soda is slightly gritty and a little abrasive but its really nice for getting rid of black heads and dead skin so you should give it a fair chance.

Step 1: Add 3 tsp of backing soda to a small bowl.
Step 2: Add 2 tsp of water to the bowl.
Step 3: Apply to your face and let sit no more than 5 min tops.(while you wait use some to whiten your teeth)
Step 4: Rinse and follow up with your cleanser of choice.

Top pic: thinner for sensitive skin
Bottom pic: If you can handle a little more scrubbing action (recommended)

Note: I would skip your toner tonight unless you like the feeling off your face on fire but go ahead and moisturize as normal. Your face will feel so clean and soft. :)

Swamp Monsters & Mummy Meatloaf - Halloween Day 2

There are so many fun recipes and ideas online for turning ordinary food into halloween themed meals. This was super easy and my kids actually ate it. I used one of my regular meatloaf recipes ( i have a million) but for this one i did a simple one:

Easy meatloaf:

2 pounds of ground beef - lean
about a 1/2 cup italian bread crumbs
about a 1/2 cup of imos style pizza sauce
garlic to taste
imos style shredded cheese ( about 1/2 cup)

Mix it up in a bowl and form it like a mummy on a cookie sheet.

Bake 350 for about a hour.

For the swamp monsters i used veleeta mac n cheese made per instructions them you fill muffin tins with it and bake at 350 for about 15 min. Then put them on a bed of sauteed greens in my case spinach as my kids actually like it. I know pretty odd huh. lol

Anyway you are suppose to use sliced olives for eyes but i didn't have any so any condiment will work in a pinch. The kids thought it was SO cool. And dinner time wasn't a fight. In my experience anytime you make food fun kids will eat.

Halloween Crackle Nail Art Tutorial - Halloween Day 1

I didn't have a lot of time for this weeks nail art tutorial so i did a fun halloween crackle. I started by selecting 5 colors for a 2 color gradient effect.

orange
mellow yellow
gun metal
skull & glossbones
tokyo pearl

And topped it off with a black crackle.

The only tips i can really give for this is to apply 2 coats of each color and when you apply the crackle start left from right and don't go back over it. This will give you a nice effect. Make sure you finish with a top coat and there ya go.

Its that time again. Time for me to share some amazing products to put the passion back in your relationship. This time I wanna talk to you about some of the amazing edible products offered at EdenFantasys.

I absolutely love fall and halloween. I would be super happy if it stayed this way all year but since that's not going to happen i thought it would be fun to challenge myself and anyone else interested in making the most of it for the month of october.

Jamberry Nail Review/Tutorial

Jamberry Nail Shields is a new company founded by 3 sisters. They carry tons of styles, colors, designs in tons of collections. They also offer parties like other home businesses where the hostess can receive free credits towards merchandise.

Each Nail shield sheet comes with a variety of sizes to accommodate most nail sizes. I did have a slight problem with this as a my nails were in between sizes so i didn't get a perfect fit and had to do some extra trimming. The application is a really easy process and each set includes instructions to walk you through it but they concept is that of a sticker you just stick it on & smooth it out.

After you get them on you need to make sure you file them really good at the ends or else its going to feel like you have a million hang nails. I filed for what seemed like forever and i still came across a few rough edges. The nail shield have a beautiful color and shine to them and look like a expensive high quality job from the salon.

I have had mine on for a few days and showered washed my hair and all that and they are still going strong. So i could see them lasting awhile. I would definitely check out their site and give them a shot. They are a little on the pricey side at $15.00 a sheet but they do run specials and the material is a good quality vinyl. Or at least that's what they remind me off.

Overall my experience with them was very pleasant, i love the look of them and the smooth easy application. Like i said the only down side i noticed was they don't fit my nails very well but its a easy fix. I got the purple giraffe found here but they have so many beautiful designs its was hard to decide.

Home from work

There’s nothing like getting home from work and sinking into my fluffy Pottery Barncouch once and for all. I love the idea around 4:00 of getting home and cracking open a bottle of wine and ordering out Thai food and sometimes I even like to turn on my DirectStarTv and find a good chick flick to take my mind off of work. It sure is nice living by myself and not having to worry that a roommate or boyfriend is going to want to use the TV or vacuum or have a part or something! My favorite time of night is around 8:00 when I realize I’m totally relaxed and ready to go to sleep but I know I don’t have to yet – that’s a good feeling. There’s nothing like having no responsibilities but taking out the dog and cleaning up the take out for the next day and that’s why I like to keep my social life to the weekends! Who wants to go out when they can come home and snuggle all night?

Fishnet/Lace Inspired Nail Art Tutorial

I got a request for lace nails and fishnet nails so this will work with either. I decided to use tulle for my fishnet effect since it is really light and thin. If using lace i had better results with a very sheer type of lace with a tiny design but you can use whatever you would like you may just need more top coats.

This style of nail art is not intended to be long term but would be great for a night out or something where your not expecting it to last.

Tip: You want the nail to feel totally smooth so keep applying top coats until you get there and also make sure to go all the way down the nail and get the tips good. Don't want it to lift. Its also easier if you pre cut your material.

French Kitty Nail Art Tutorial

I have to say the easiest way to do a french tip is to use the tip guides available online, at sallys or any other beauty supply store. They make your tips perfect every time. How ever if you cant find them and have a good steady hand i will show you an alternative to doing tips later this week.

For this tutorial i am using the guides. Then at the end I take it step furture by dressing up a few nails with hello kitty faces and bows. This step is totally optional but its really cute.

Chunky Monkey Bread - Recipe/Tutorial

This is my spin on a classic monkey bread. It's not much different than most recipes but here we go:

Ingredients:
4 cans of biscuits
3/4 c sugar
3/4 c brown sugar
1/2 c melted butter
1 tbl cinnamon
1/2 tbl pampered chef sweet cinnamon granules (optional)

You will also need:
gallon zip lock
bundt pan
cooking spray
Mix-ins such as nuts, raisins, dried fruits all optional

Basic Mod Dot Nail Art

Todays nail art tutorial is a really simple one. It looks great in any color combo and its classic.

As always start with clean dry nails. And apply your base coat.
After its dry apply 2 coats of your main color. (I used Scandal by Pure Ice)
Next get out your dotting tool and apply 3 large dots down the middle (4 on your thumb) & 4 small dots off to one side (5 on thumb) The color i used was Skull & Glossbones by O.P.I.
Apply a top coat and your done :)

Try this look with all kinds of color combos its one of my go-to designs when im low on time or having a creative block. If you all have any request please let me know.

Thats right you heard what i said. Coffee on your face. Well not a brewed cup or anything but thw actual coffee grounds mixed with cocoa and some cream and oh boy.

We have all heard all the amazing things coffee is suppose to do for our health but what about our skin. Well pretty much the same thing it can take your tired dull skin and bring it to life.

Here is a simple mask i use 3 times a week usually in the cooler months when skin goes dull. It Is great for oily skin as well.

Cocoa, Coffee, Cream:
2 tbls cocoa powder
2 tbls ground coffee (i like a little scubbing action but you can grind it finer to suit your needs)
4 tbls cream or milk (i use cream in winter/ milk in summer)

Mix all the above in a sealable tupperware container as it makes enough for 3 masks.
Using a brush ( like a foundation brush or fan brush) apply a even coat to your face and neck.
Allow to dry 15 min.
Then wash off with warm water.
